The site was created by Australian travel writer Andrea Anastasakis in 2016, drawing on more than 20 years of living and travelling across Europe. What started as a small collection of destination guides has grown into one of the most detailed Christmas market resources available online.

I check every destination against official sources on a monthly cycle throughout the year. Dates, locations and market details are updated as information becomes available, and each guide shows when it was last checked.
I also research what visitors are actually saying about each destination. Each year, I review recent feedback from travellers across forums, media and review sites to understand what’s working well and what isn’t. These insights are summarised in the destination guides so you get an honest picture of each market, not just the tourism board version.
I do this because outdated or one-sided information is one of the most common frustrations when planning Christmas market trips, and I want this site to be one you can rely on.
