Hotels near Brussels Christmas Market at Grand Place

The main tourist sights and attractions in Brussels are scattered across several different neighbourhoods. You’ll most likely want to use the Metro to visit the different areas, but if you want to be in the centre near Grand Place, I can recommend several hotels near the Brussels Christmas Market.

Grand Place is a convenient location, allowing you to walk to many popular places, but it also makes it easy to hop on the Metro at the Bourse or Brussels Central when needed.

The Christmas market in Brussels is held in Grand Place, the beautiful market square in historic Brussels. The vast central square is lined with buildings dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, including the Gothic Town Hall, the gold-decorated Maison Grand-Place, and various guild halls.

The Dominican
Address: Rue Léopold 9, Brussels, Belgium
A 5-minute walk through quiet streets to Grand-Place, The Dominican is well-located opposite the classical facade of the La Monnaie De Munt opera house and Place de la Monnaie. There is a small Christmas market located at Place de la Monnaie, opposite the hotel, and the area also features numerous restaurants and bars. The boutique hotel has an abbey-inspired interior, an inner courtyard and a small gym.

Address: Rue des Bouchers 38, Brussels, Belgium
The minimalist design of this boutique hotel features timber floorboards, an inner courtyard and green accents. The small hotel is located inside the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, a glamorous antique shopping arcade, a 2-minute walk to Grand Place. This is one of the newer and more modern design hotels in Brussels.

Great Value for Money

Pillows City Hotel Brussels Centre
Address: Rue des Paroissiens 15-27, 1000 Brussels, Belgium
While the Pillows City Hotel is 7 or 8 minutes from Grand-Place, it is conveniently located near Brussels Central train station, an ideal location if you’re arriving by train. The rooms are modern and stylish, featuring a black and white colour scheme with marble bathrooms. While it’s not a budget hotel, it offers good value for money if booked in advance.

Cool and Quirky

Boutique Hotel Saint-Géry
Address: Place Saint Gery 29-32, Brussels
This quirky boutique hotel is opposite the Halles Saint-Géry exhibition centre, around 500 metres from Grand Place. The design is very unusual and unique. There is a jazz bar on the ground floor, where you can often enjoy live music. Some rooms have an open bathroom, so keep this in mind when booking.

Budget Hotel

Latroupe Grand Place Hostel
Address: 159 Boulevard Anspach, Brussels
Don’t let the fact that this is a hostel deter you. Latroupe has private rooms and family rooms for those travelling in a group. As the hostel is located at Grote Markt, it’s only around a 4-minute walk to Grand Place. However, there are also Christmas chalets in this location. The reviews are excellent, and the facilities here are great, so it’s definitely worth considering.

Ixelles District

Zoom Hotel
Address: Rue de la Concorde 59-61, Elsene – Ixelles
The Zoom Hotel is not near the Christmas market but in the hipster Ixelles neighbourhood. This is a great area to stay in if you’re interested in somewhere away from the touristy centre and close to some excellent bars and eateries. Having stayed in this neighbourhood on several occasions, I can assure you it’s a great part of the city. Decorated in an industrial vintage style, this hotel is 600 metres from Louise Metro Station. Zoom Hotel has an intimate garden courtyard and a bar serving local Belgian beers. The hotel does not use single-use plastics; most of the food is organic and locally sourced, and the hotel showcases artwork from local artists. The rooms are modern and very stylish.
