Proximity to the Christmas market: 14-minute walk (1km)
Neighbourhood: Radhuspladsen
Address: H.C. Andersens Boulevard 12, Copenhagen City Centre

At citizenM Copenhagen, I found the experience aligned with the brand’s reputation. The rooms are smartly designed, maintaining tidiness and cleanliness, though they are compact. The beds are cleverly positioned under the window to maximise space. This design choice didn’t detract from comfort.

Hotel Motel One
Address: Løngangstræde 27, 1468 Copenhagen
Only 400 metres from the markets, Hotel Motel One is a 5-minute walk from the market and other famous sights in Copenhagen. It was previously Hotel H27, an intimate Danish design hotel inspired by 50s and 60s fashion. It is now part of the popular Motel One group, which is known for its relative affordability.
Near Tivoli Gardens
The area around Tivoli is home to many restaurants, cafes, shops, and the amusement park.
Hotel Danmark
Address: Vester Voldgade 89, Copenhagen
This is a great boutique hotel located near the Tivoli Gardens. The black, white, and pale green design palette gives the rooms a modern yet cosy feel. It might be too cold to use in December, but if possible, check out the rooftop terrace for panoramic views over Copenhagen. Pubs, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance. Stroget High Street is 300 m away. A complimentary wine hour is sometimes available daily between 5pm and 6pm.
Nyhavn Area
The Huxley
Address: Peder Skrams Gade 24, Copenhagen, Denmark
The beautiful designer Danish furniture in an orange and blue colour scheme is unique and inviting, as is the quality timber floorboards that help provide a Scandinavian hotel experience. The Huxley is on the waterfront, not far from Nyhavn. It’s in the Gammelholm District, about 600 metres from Strøget (the main Christmas market) and 1.5km from the Tivoli Gardens. This is a great location if you want to be near some of the city’s excellent restaurants and stay in a quieter area while still being in the city centre.
71 Nyhavn Hotel
Address: Nyhavn 71, Copenhagen
If you would prefer to stay directly at the famous Nyhavn District on the waterfront, 71 Nyhavn is the best hotel in this area. Located in converted warehouses dating from the 1800s, it’s a special building that has been wonderfully renovated. The rooms are cosy and unique, with white walls and exposed timber beams. All the guests commented on the breakfast, location, and lovely staff. The beautiful staircases and windows reflect the historic nature of the building, but the design is still modern and clean.
Apartment Stay
On The Mile 1
Address: Amagertorv 33, Copenhagen
Staying in an apartment in Copenhagen will give you more peace and privacy while still being in one of the best locations in the city. This apartment is exceptionally light and bright, with beautiful timber floors and is decorated in cool whites, greys, and blues. The building location gives direct access to Strøget and Højbro Square and is close to anywhere you’re likely to go in Copenhagen while on holiday.
Tip: This is one of the best places to stay in Copenhagen, and I highly recommend staying here.
