Exeter Christmas Market 2026 and Winter Wonderland

Last Updated: 1 July 2026
5 Comments

Cathedral Green is one of those settings that elevates whatever you put in it, and the Exeter Christmas Market takes full advantage. The stalls spread between the cathedral and Exeter Castle, and with the green as a natural gathering point, the whole event has a relaxed, contained feel that larger city markets often lack.

What to Expect

Cathedral Green is the central location for Exeter’s winter market, the largest in Devon. The market features over 100 stalls, offering a mix of local and international traders selling artisan crafts, gourmet food, and West Country produce in the wooden chalets.

A key highlight is the Exeter Food & Drink Trail, which runs alongside the market and showcases local food and drink producers. Live music at the bandstand, featuring performances by the Exeter Cathedral Choir, enhances the experience.

The city also hosts the Winter Wonderland event, featuring an ice rink and Santa’s Grotto.
