Toulouse Christmas Market 2026 Dates in the Pink City

Last Updated: 1 July 2026
No Comments

Built almost entirely from a distinctive pink-orange brick that glows warmly at sunset, this city provides the Toulouse Christmas Market with a backdrop you won’t find anywhere else in France. The Occitan south has its own culinary traditions too: cassoulet, violet-flavoured sweets, and foie gras from the nearby Gers are standard market fare here.

Convenient Hotels

The Capitole de Toulouse is the city’s historic centre and the best area to stay near the market in Place du Capitole. I recommend Le Grand Balcon Hotel in this area.

Recommended Tours

You might like the Electric Tuk-Tuk Tour for a twist on typical tours. You’ll traverse Toulouse’s streets on an electric tuk-tuk, pausing for photos with an included audio guide. The tour passes iconic sites like scenic gardens, the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, and the serene Garonne riverbanks.

Alternatively, the Victor Hugo Market food tour is highly recommended for exploring Toulouse’s food scene.

What to Expect

Toulouse adds a distinctive touch to winter celebrations with its special Garonne River light show illuminating the waterway and nearby landmarks against the city’s famous pink terracotta architecture. The city is also known for its creative Nativity scenes displayed in various locations with modern twists.

Place du Capitole serves as the main stage, featuring a magical, illuminated village with paths lined by fir trees that lead to white chalets. The ice rink is set up amidst festive light decorations, and Santa Claus makes scheduled appearances with shows for all ages.

Don’t overlook the Christmas Market at Square Charles de Gaulle, distinguished by designer chalets and remarkable decorations. The Village of Creators on the Ramblas features around twenty chalets dedicated to artisans and creators, as well as two chalets spotlighting the region’s distinct Occitanie culture.
