I’m not sure I would describe this as a boutique hotel, not in the sense of being a contemporary design hotel but it is brilliantly located near Bratislava Christmas Market in the old town. The hotel is within a stunning historic building and the classic design and marble finishes suit it perfectly. Everyone who stays here comments on the wonderfully warm and welcoming staff. The hotel doesn’t use single-use plastic, they limit and recycle waste, food is locally sourced and they support local guides. They also offer electric vehicle charging and bike rentals making this one of the most sustainable hotels in Bratislava.

Directly in the centre of the old town, this hotel might even be too central as it’s in a very busy touristy area with many bars and restaurants. Having said that, if you want to be close to the main square and the Christmas markets, you can’t get closer than here as the main square is only a few steps down the narrow street where the hotel is located. I have stayed here, and it’s a lovely, comfortable and stylish hotel that has an excellent pub restaurant.
City Castle Apartments – Free Parking

If you would prefer the space and privacy of an apartment, City Castle is the most highly-rated apartment in Bratislava and one of the most affordable. The apartment is very clean and spacious, and the host is helpful if you need anything. Free parking will save you plenty of money if you’re driving as parking can be expensive in the centre of Bratislava. The apartment is a 7-minute walk from the Christmas markets.
