Geneva Christmas Market 2026: Noël at the Quai

Last Updated: 1 July 2026
No Comments

In a city where diplomats outnumber market stallholders, the Geneva Christmas Market (Noël au Quai) brings a welcome dose of seasonal warmth to the lakefront. I’ve always found Geneva at its most approachable during Advent, when the formal international veneer softens, and locals gather for vin chaud and raclette along the quays.

Convenient Hotels

Geneva has some interesting neighbourhoods, such as Plainpalais, which features street art and indie shops, and Eaux-Vives, an upscale neighbourhood known for its wide boulevards, beautiful parks, and high-end shopping.

But it’s also nice to stay centrally in the Old Town. In this area, the Ruby Claire is in a great spot near the pedestrian bridge that takes you across to Quai du Mont-Blanc.

Recommended Tours

On a city tour, you’ll visit some of the city’s most famous landmarks and attractions, mainly in the Old Town. You can organise a city tour at the tourist office, but for something unique, I recommend this tour of a glacier near Geneva. The views are incredible!

Alternatively, you might enjoy this food tour, which focuses on Swiss chocolate. Not to be missed when in Switzerland!

Food lovers can indulge in street food, raclette, and mulled wine from over 30 restaurants serving a selection of seasonal dishes. For a cosy meal, visit the Fondue Chalet for warm fondue and more.
