Hotel Heritage is located one street from the river and a 5-minute walk from Preseren Square.

A little bit further away is Hotel Mrak, a modern, clean and comfortable hotel less than a 10-minute walk to Ljubljana Christmas Market. It’s a lovely walk through the old cobblestone streets to get there, and there are many art galleries and museums in this area too. Hotel Mrak is only a few minutes away from the river and cool cafes like Tozd, or you can eat at the hotel, which is known for its excellent breakfast.

Hostel Tresor is in a brilliant location, steps from the Christmas markets, Preseren Square and the Triple Bridge. This won’t be for everyone, but it has the potential to make your winter break in Ljubljana very affordable. I visited this hotel last time I was in Ljubljana, and it’s quiet and quirky. Well worth it if you’re on a budget.
